Children who have to be in the hospital for extended periods of time are more often scared and simply just want to go home. With multiple strangers coming in and out of the room, asking them or their parents questions they don’t understand only to be poked or prodded doesn’t make the experience any easier for them. It is a confusing and emotionally draining time when all a child wants is to be safe at home with their normal lives back in tow.
